The SeaLink Gladstone team is always ready to lend a hand (or a claw) to those in need—no matter the species!
When a goanna found itself stuck in tidal trouble near the RG Tanna Coal Terminal, our quick-thinking crew came to the rescue. With no land in sight, the little adventurer made a beeline for the bow of the vessel, where our expert deckhand hooked it aboard, giving the goanna a VIP ride to safety.
Once safely on board, the scaly stowaway chose to roll off the gangway when we docked, rather than heading back to the rocks.
This is just another example of how our crew’s commitment to looking after the environment and local wildlife extends beyond our usual passengers. Huge kudos to the Gladstone team for showing great care—even for our reptilian mates.
