Kangaroo Island roads are totally accessible by conventional motor vehicles and is well serviced with an extensive bitumised road network. Some roads are constructed of ironstone gravel and high speed driving on these roads can be hazardous. We suggest reading our Handy Tips for driving on KI.
If you have a rental car already organised from the mainland please check with your rental agent that your vehicle is covered for insurance to Kangaroo Island. We can help you with organising a hire car or 4WD from Adelaide if you prefer.
